Joe Rainer has been a qualified (mountain) ski instructor and a member of the Sesto Ski School for over 20 years now. He is both keen and sensitive, and will happily show you how to turn on your skis or spend the day with you on the Cortina, Plan de Corones or Sella Ronda circuits. He represents our affiliation with the Sesto Ski School and takes well-organised group courses on the slope opposite the Rainer Hotel.

Christian Schwienbacher, the owner’s step-son, is instead a qualified Nordic-ski instructor. He has a passion for cross-country skiing which appears to be in the genes, as his brothers are veteran members of the Italian national team who have gone on to take part in the Winter Olympics, and are considered to be among the best cross-country skiers in South Tyrol.

Organisation of ski courses

The group courses are held Monday to Friday between 10.00 and 12.30. On request, children in the advanced group can also take part in the afternoon ski course which is held on tuesday between 14.00 and 16.00. This course involves various instructors of the Sesto Ski School. Young children can take their first steps in the snow with the “magic carpet” on the field in front of the hotel, while children who are already confident on skis can set off from the hotel to the Dolomiti di Sesto skiing area.

Children arrive already fully prepared and equipped (with gloves, ski boots, skis, ski-pass if necessary, etc.) straight at the slope in front of the hotel where they are greeted by their instructors who will later take them back. At 11.00, the Rainer course for beginners takes a “warming break” at the hotel bar (snack and drink included).

“Ski & games” combination at the Mini Club

Between Monday and Friday you can sign your children up for lunch with our carers (inclusive for children in half board, 15.- € for children without half board). Your children can then continue to play in the “World of Raini” until 18.00, also with the supervision of our carers. The “World of Raini” schedule includes all kinds of games and activities. These are also held outdoors in the afternoon, weather permitting. This means that, for 5 days a week, we can arrange all-day care for your children so you can ski with complete peace of mind.

An outdoor world for children

Here, your children are not only in excellent hands but can also have a whale of a time. Now that there is immediate access to the Dolomiti di Sesto skiing area, parents can save themselves a lot of time and stress. No more long and tiring travel dragging along your skis, lining up in long queues and feeling fraught and tense! Your children are met by an instructor the moment you arrive at the resort and once they have put on their skis they are ready for a carefree day on the slopes.

Our ski slope is also used in the afternoon for sledding and sliding on the snow. Snow can also be enjoyed in the play areas. This means we can also guarantee plenty of outdoor fun in the afternoon.
